As the highlight of the CMZ
First Patient Safety Forum on Hand Hygiene with the Information Education
Campaign (IEC) Workshop, CMZ conducted the IEC Creative Arts Contest still with
the theme = = Hand Hygiene: the Core of Infection Prevention and Control...
"Our hands are clean. You are safe with us. From the hearts of the
CMZians."
This program is spearheaded by the CMZ Infection Control Nurse, Ms. Kamille Alcala together with the Nursing Service Office and Building Administrator, Mr. Andrew De Leon.

These initiatives are targeted to increase the awareness and
compliance of hand hygiene among the staff and clients of CMZ to reduce hospital acquired infection.
The following are the Information Education
Campaign (IEC) Artworks created by the Ciudad Medical Zamboanga workforce. There were six groups from the Nursing Service, four units from Ancillary, four from Admin/HR and one from Finance.

15. Logistics, Dietary, Linen & Laundry
These artworks
are intended as an advocacy material for healthcare workers, patients and
families on the importance of Hand Washing to prevent different kinds of
infection, thus, promoting proper HAND WASHING at the right time as the
simplest and cheapest way for Infection Prevention and Control, and therefore,
to help achieve our PATIENT SAFETY goals.
On the same day, these artworks were evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges:
1) Ms. Amihan Jumalon, artist
2) Dr. Jejunee Rivera, Infectious Disease specialist
3) Ms. Mila Arieta, Zamboanga Today columnist
4) Mr. Julius Gregory Ibalio, USAID
The Board of Judges were briefed on the Theme and on the concept of the IEC and that for this contest, the messages as strong as the beauty of the piece.

On the same day, these artworks were evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges:

These initiatives are just among the efforts to drumbeat CMZ's advocacy in Hand Hygiene for optimal tangible impact.
A lot still has to be done for developing and sustaining compliance in a majority of the healthcare workers and even a larger responsibility to share the awareness to the Zamboanga City community!
Let us all DO our share to "MAKE HANDWASHING A HABIT" for a healthier community and a healthier world, as the Global Handwashing Day 2016 theme advocates!
