BLOOD DONORS' MONTH IN ZAMBOANGA CITY @ JULY 2014

JULY is also Blood Donors' Month!

And so we would like to share a link by Dante Corteza on the Opening Program of the Philippine Red Cross Zamboanga Chapter.

Sunday, 06 July 2014 00:00
As our country observes National Blood Donor’s Month this July, the local Zamboanga Chapter joined with an opening program at the Zamboanga City State College of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZCSCMST) last July 4 Friday. The event encourages the public to donate blood regularly to save the lives of those who need it during critical times.

July has been designated National Blood Donor’s Month pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 1021 in 1997. This year’s theme, “Safe Blood for Saving Mothers. Give Blood to those who gave Life.” The campaign aims to increase awareness about why timely access to safe blood and blood product is essential in preventing maternal deaths.

And, we would also like to share our Blood Letting activity in CMZ last July 25, 2014, where there were 68 staff who had the intent to donate, 45 who passed the screening and 42 successful donors.

And of course, we are proud that CMZ is the Bloodiest Hospital for 2013.

We look forward to our future Blood Letting activities throughout the year!
