Robinsonsland invited Ciudad Medical Zamboanga and other organizations with Corporate Social Responsibility to join the Robinsons Malls Tree Festival during the opening of the NEW FAVORITE, the ROBINSONS GALLERIA CEBU. One of the objectives is Awareness and another is to help the organizations in their fund-raising activities to foster their causes.

The CMZ BRA Christmas Tree is originally based in Zamboanga City and our efforts are concentrated on Breast Cancer Awareness!

The CMZ BRA Christmas Tree is made up of 149 pink and purple bras with 24 more bras attached to the BRA gift boxes.

These bras are contributions from:

Ciudad Medical Zamboanga is a 160-bed private tertiary general hospital in Zamboanga City with Breast Wellness and Breast Cancer Awareness as its premiere Corporate Social Responsibility program.

CMZ is the first and only Philippine Quality Award recipient in the healthcare industry (to date).

Ciudad Medical Zamboanga B.R.A. (Bra to Raise Awareness) Campaign Project is an innovative Breast Cancer Awareness advocacy project using brassieres, developed to intensify breast awareness through community partnership.

Two-pronged approach using:
1) Brassieres as Art medium to inspire awareness through the creation of Installation Artworks that will trigger the visual and cerebral stimuli; and
2) Breast Education with Screening to reach out to the barangay level through its offshoot, the CMZ BRAngay Project. (BReast Awareness to neighborhoods, groups, associations and the youth).

The CMZ BRA Campaign Project which started January 2014, has created five Installation Artworks:

1. Ciudad De Zamboanga B.R.E.A.S.T. (Bra to Raise Early Awareness for Screening and Treatment) Installation Art 2014
== more than 1600 bras

2. CMZ B.R.A. Vinta 2014-2015 (two versions = 184 x 2 = 386
3. CMZ B.R.A. Christmas Tree 2014
==272 bras

4. CMZ B.R.A.lentine Wall and Photo Booth 2015 = 184 bras

5. CMZ Pink B.R.A. Christmas Tree in Robinsons Galleria Cebu December 2015

Activities of the CMZ Breast Wellness Center (with the CMZ BRAngay Project in 2015) from January 2014 until September 2015:
~~ 38 breast awareness lectures
~~ 23 breast screening activities
=== serving 2152 participants;
=== 866 screened
=== with 30 free ultrasound and
=== 6 free mammograms

The CMZ BRA Campaign Project won the GOLD AWARD for Corporate Social Responsibility at the ASIAN HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT AWARDS 2015 conferred at Yangon, Myanmar last September 4, 2015 besting more than 70 programs from 12 countries.

CMZ B.R.A. CAMPAIGN PROJECT ARTWORKS @ 2014-2015

It has been a year since the CMZ B.R.A. (Bra to Raise Awareness) Campaign Project was launched and up to this day, April 4, 2015, we have put up 5 main artworks and 3 B.R.A. Art Exhibits.

We would like to thank nationally and internationally known Zamboanga Artist, Rameer Tawasil for bringing up the idea of using art and brassieres as the medium for the CMZ Breast Awareness advocacy... so unique and innovative, indeed!

Among the main issues during our initial discussions is the acceptance of brassieres  as the medium...
1) If the bras could trigger negative feedback from conservative women, religious and Muslim groups...
2) If the bras themselves will not be acceptable when displayed in public...
3) If our own government leaders could not accept the B.R.A. Installation artwork as itself!

Definitely, if there were negative feedbacks, the purpose of the advocacy would be defeated.

Somehow, on our own evaluation, we realized that beautifully decorated bras would more likely not draw malicious thoughts but instead would be appreciated as art, of course, with the person of an artist, Rameer Tawasil as our key.

Thus, we had two main art workshops to produce the beautifully embellished bras:
1) from our own CMZ staff last February 7, 2015

2) from the partners in the Zamboanga City community last March 12, 2015

3)  from friends in other parts of the Philippines and abroad
4)  from CMZ staff and friends throughout the year: July 2014, September October 2014, December 2014.
5) from the CMZ Breast Wellness Crusade in Mindpro last October 3, 2014

Installation Art (from Wikipedia) is an artistic genre of three-dimensional works that are often site-specific and designed to transform the perception of a space.
Installation art can be either temporary or permanent. Installation artworks have been constructed in exhibition spaces such as museums and galleries, as well as public and private spaces. The genre incorporates a broad range of everyday and natural materials, which are often chosen for their "evocative" qualities, as well as new media such as video, sound, performance, immersive virtual reality and the internet. Many installations are site-specific in that they are designed to exist only in the space for which they were created, appealing to qualities evident in a three-dimensional immersive medium.

It is amazing how the CMZ B.R.A. Campaign Project has grown and developed to what it is now!

The CMZ Breast Wellness Center hopes that more and more people, especially the women of Zamboanga City would get to know more about Breast Wellness and learn to:
