CMZ STEPH 2017 IMMACULATE CONCEPTION ARCHDIOCESAN SCHOOL (ICAS)




February 6 to 9, 2016

Ciudad Medical Zamboanga welcomes the students from the Immaculate Conception Archdiocesan School (ICAS) for the CMZ Student Tour for Exposure to Professions in Healthcare (STEPH) program.
S.T.E.P.H. stands for Student Tour for Exposure  to Professions in Healthcare which is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program under Human Resource with Ms. Juvee Calica, HR Manager as lead.

This February 2017, all the Grade 10 students from Section A to D from ICAS experienced the STEPH Program in four separate sessions.

ICAS Grade 10 students are invited to the STEPH Program to assist them in their career choice. Exposure to the hospital setting will broaden their knowledge that work available in hospitals are not limited to doctors and nurses but also to technology related as well as administrative and finance type of jobs. CMZ also wants the students to know more about health advocacy such as Breast awareness and Hand washing.

TOUR
At the Siemens 1.5T MRI, Laboratory, Siemens 64-slice CT Scan

Ward, Siemens 64 Slice CT Scan, OR Complex, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Operating Room, Pharmacy, Laboratory (hands on!) and Emergency Room

Cardio-Pulmonary Unit, Rehabilitation Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Radiology (Xray Fluoroscopy)




This will show them a glimpse of the reality of work in hospitals as well as give them the chance to interact with the workforce. There were definitely lots of questions for the staff and fun in experiencing new things.

On the side of CMZ, we hope that we can encourage more students to enter the healthcare organizations to help augment the turnover of staff, with workforce also given the opportunity to work abroad.

This November 24, 2016, Ciudad Medical Zamboanga welcomes Claret School of Zamboanga City Senior high students as they participate in the CMZ Student Tour for Exposure to Professions in Healthcare (S.T.E.P.H.) Program.

After the enlightening insights from the speakers, exposure to the hospital setting showcased to the students the personnel at work, how processes were done, the equipment they use. Students asked a lot of question from the staff and were very excited when they were allowed to try out some of the machines.  

The class was divided into smaller groups and two facilitators were assigned to each group for better interaction. Thank you so much to our facilitators.
