The Ateneo De Zamboanga University School of Medicine (ADZU-SOM) is one of the pioneers for the Problem-Based Learning (PBL).
I have been part of the ADZU SOM faculty for 17 years now.
For our Radiology
small group sessions, I used to really hold classes at the ADZU-SOM, but I had to bring along so many X-ray envelopes with films up to the fourth floor where the classrooms are situated.
For several years now, I usually invite the students to Ciudad Medical Zamboanga CT and MRI Sections, so they can see more
images through films and through PACS as well as in the CT or MRI monitors for
a more interactive learning experience.
These are for the Neuroradiology and ENT Radiology modules!
They also have a chance to see the
Siemens Mammomat Inspiration Digital Mammography machine in the adjacent
section, the CMZ Breast Wellness Center.
Inspite of our busy clinical and administrative activities, we still give time to share our knowledge with the ADZU SOM students... being a teacher is indeed fulfilling!
