IN PINAY'S CIUDAD: GMEA 2016 FINALIST (Mindanao)

It is really tickled me to be invited to Davao City for the Mindanao Leg of the Globe Media Excellence Awards 2016!

Isn't it amazing that I would receive and award for Media Excellence, which is indeed outside of my profession, which is MEDICINE!

More so because the Award is as GMEA 2016 FINALIST for SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN OF THE YEAR, as a BLOGGER, part of the TOP THREE and the first time for me to join this! (It is less common for people of my age-range to even be involved in Social Media other than Facebook.)
Finalist, Social Media Campaign of the Year
Dr. Filipinas Rojo
CMZ B.R.A. Campaign Project: The Advovacy Continues
And, it is more amazing since the Winner for the same category, Davao Eagle Online is an internet publication and a community blog!

Congratulations most especially to ULYSSES JOHN ALMOCERA, Finalist for Blogger of the Year, also from Zamboanga City!

I think it is the first time for Zamboanga City to join GMEA for the Social Media category and the second year to join for the Print and Broadcast categories.

UJ and I are the ONLY finalists from Zamboanga City this year... and both of us belong to the Social Media category.

BUT, being part of the GMEA 2016 SHORTLIST (89 out of 444 entries for 12 categories) is an honor in itself and thus, I would like to congratulate my friends, RG Antonet Go and to the many reporters in E-Media, Rey Bayoging, Gil Climaco, Frederick Atilano, Gino Torres, Jonathan Jalon and Joe Rebollos for their very worthwhile entries!

We met other Zamboanga delegates in the airport since we were booked in one ticket. We were a mixed group with Edgardo Lorenzo Vano (Judge), Jose Maria "Bong" Bue (Screener) and UJ Almocera and me (Finalists).
Zamboanga Team, Judge Ed Vano, Screener Jose Maria Bue, Finalist UJ Almocera, friends Rod Acuzar and Leizel De Sosa,  together with PR Works, Mafe and Van!

Thanks so much to PR Works: Doris Mongaya, Mafe Barcelo and Van Minoza for the invitation to join GMEA 2016 early this year, for the coordination and most of all, the new friendship!

Thanks to Globe Telecom for providing a venue for recognition for MEDIA EXCELLENCE through GMEA!

I had to have this photo with Globe's SVP for Corporate Communications, Ms. Yoly Crisanto, who also is the signatory for the Certificate of Recognition!

And so glad to meet again, Ms. Kiss Basillote Ekong of GLOBE Southern Mindanao!

PLUS, the presence of CITO BELTRAN (who is a well-respected writer, columnist, motivational speaker and business consultant) during the Awards Night as special guest and keynote speaker made the affair very inspiring to all media practitioners there!

This GMEA 2016 Award is dedicated to Ciudad Medical Zamboanga (and the whole CMZ workforce) since this institution has given me so many reasons to #ShareYourStory (actually share my story), with all the innovative initiatives CMZ comes up with regularly, especially, the CMZ B.R.A. Campaign Project plus the CMZ S.T.E.P.H. and so many other activities for patients and employees alike!

As we continue to serve, there will be more and more tales to tell.

Robinsons Galleria Cebu invited the Ciudad Medical Zamboanga B.R.A. (Bra to Raise Awareness)  Campaign Project to participate at the Robinsons Festival of Trees for Corporate Social Responsibility - - - Now, on display from November 18, 2016 to January 2017
Attending the GMEA 2016 Awards night is an eye-opener, a venue to meet new friends, a very happy learning experience and a glimpse into a whole new world!

Thanks to Leizel De Sosa for being there and for being my photographer!

Congratulations to all the GLOBE MEDIA EXCELLENCE AWARDS winners from the SHORTLIST to the FINALISTS and to those who bagged the TOP SPOT!

P.S. I never realized how much I love telling stories and writing until 2011 when Charm Dalguntas, CMZ FO and Juvee Calica, CMZ HR urged me to start blogging... with all hesitation! Now, the rest is history.

Again, I would like to thank all my teachers in STC Cebu and UP College Cebu for teaching us ENGLISH and communication very well...  it all started there!!!
