CMZ celebrates GLOBAL HANDWASHING DAY 2016

October 15, 2016 is GLOBAL HANDWASHING DAY with the Theme: MAKE HANDWASHING A HABIT!

To celebrate this day, Ciudad Medical Zamboanga invited Pilar College of Zamboanga City through the S.T.E.P.H. (Student Tour for Exposure to Professions in Healthcare) Program, where Hand Hygiene (Handwashing and Alcohol Hand Rub) was taught and the value of Proper Handwashing was emphasized.

Aside from the lecture and video presentation by CMZ Infection Control Nurse, Ms Kamille Alcala, it was indeed a celebration with our CMZ dancers paving the way for our HAND MASCOT at the CMZ lobby as they danced their ways to our hearts and minds for the HAND HYGIENE Advocacy. Thanks a lot to you for adding joy to the celebration!

This fun, colorful and lively welcome for GLOBAL HANDWASHING DAY 2016 is intended to increase awareness for our healthcare personnel, patients, relatives and also with the intention to reach out to the community, and this time, the Grade 10 students of Pilar College of Zamboanga City as a representative group!

MOST OF ALL, CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE IEC CREATIVE ARTS CONTEST!

By participating in the First Patient Safety Forum with the Hand Hygiene lecture by Nursing Director, Ms Celita Calma, IEC Workshop by ICN Kamille Alcala and Engr. Andrew De Leon and joining the IEC Creative Arts Contest, the participants have already broadened their awareness and knowledge regarding Hand Hygiene and hopefully, be the game changers in serving as the role models for compliance and sustainability of the program.

CMZ hopes that with the sum of our multiple efforts on HAND HYGIENE together with the installation of the sensor-driven antibacterial foam hand soap plus paper towels and availability of alcohol in dispensers, we would be able to increase compliance and sustainability on the use of hand washing or alcohol hand rub among the healthcare personnel and clients as well as help in sharing to the community, the importance of PROPER HANDWASHING as the simplest and cheapest way to prevent diseases such as Acute Gastroenteritis and Influenza.

TOGETHER, LET US ALL MAKE HANDWASHING A HABIT!!!
