Rameer Tawasil together with the GIANT BRA made up of colorful, decorated bras!!! |
Last February 7 and March 12, 2014 were CMZ B.R.A. (Bra to Raise Awareness) Art Workshops with our staff as well as friends partners in the Zamboanga City community who shared in the making of the wonderfully decorated bras! **
There were about 550 bras as a result of the two workshops and more were done after the workshop! There were contributions of Art bras from local artists (with Rameer Tawasil) and those which were mailed in from other places in the Philippines and with international participation, too!***
Thus, we can proudly call this an ART WORK of the ZAMBOANGA COMMUNITY deserving to be dubbed CIUDAD DE ZAMBOANGA B.R.E.A.S.T. INSTALLATION ART!
Chosen embellished bra art are now on display in Lantaka Hotel and soon in other parts of Zamboanga City while most of the art bras are part of this innovative public installation art!****
Here are close-up shots of this Advocacy Art: Can you identify which decorated bras were made by you?

As we appreciate this Ciudad De Zamboanga B.R.E.A.S.T. Installation Art, let also think of the fertile minds, creative hearts and skilled hands of our partners in Zamboanga City and our friends from other parts of the Philippines and abroad, who gave their time, talent and treasure for the noble advocacy of BREAST WELLNESS and BREAST CANCER AWARENESS through ART!

Oh, and there's more and more bra for this campaign. Looks cool and different at the same time.
ReplyDeletewow, art was made out of the Bras! I hope it will really increase breast awareness among women, and men also, for their female loved ones.
ReplyDeleteDoc, I was wondering, how many bras exactly are there? I'm guessing it's around 500ish.

DeleteIt must be more than 500 because even the whole backdrop is filled with colored bras, and the floor and sides of the stage are filled with black bras! The decorated bras within the large bra are also placed at the thick bra strap at the sides!
DeleteThis is a very interesting question since we should start counting the bras in this giant bra. We really still have lots of bras to make art works from!
Finally. we had someone count it...

"Early detection and early treatment save lives" is a great line to convince women and even the men to have a consultation before the illness aggravates.
ReplyDeleteYes! and it applies to many other diseases too...whether other cancer screenings like for lung or colon cancer and even for lifestyle related diseases like Hypertension and Diabetes!
