It has been too long...
The Department of Health Secretary Enrique Ona called a meeting with the government and private hospitals and the PhilHealth.
Together with Dr. Ona is Dr. Jaime Lagahid, Dr. Romulo Busuego, Dr. Mila Fernandez, Dr. Nimfa Torrizo and Dr. Louella Estember.
Dr. Rodel Agbulos, City Health Officer was also there.

The meeting proper...
Dr. Ona presented DOH plans and where the private hospitals can play a role in this time of crisis.
He was informed that the private hospitals have already played a large role in accommodating soldiers, injured hostages, Red Cross volunteers and staff and bystanders and even indigent patients with non-trauma cases, supposed to be accommodated in ZCMC, which is now located at the WMSU gym.

We still have further talks to do for a mutually beneficial proposition, but rest assured the private hospitals will do their best to be a valuable partner of the Department of Health in times of crisis and thereafter.
