FIESTA PILAR REGATTA: CELSO ON THE VINTA @ OCTOBER 2012

Another interesting twist this Zamboanga Hermosa 2012 Regatta was that another prominent figure also rode the Vinta.

Not to be outdone (although, of course, there is no contest in the area), Zamboanga City Mayor Celso L. Lobregat also rode the vinta, although, he went quite far away from the shore and I noticed his vinta was quite speedy.

Initially, he rowed away from the shore...

  

 

Then, I saw he was holding on to the sail, I think to control the ride.

 

Hope you don't mind I have so many pictures. I was able to bring my Nikon D90 DSLR and so I was able to capture the scenes even at a far distance! I had fun watching what I think is a new aspect of the Regatta de Zamboanga! P.S.  This is not an election campaign material!
